Incumbent Governor of Anambra State of Nigeria, Willie Obiano has emerged as candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the governorship poll scheduled for November, 18. Obiano was picked as the winner of the party’s primaries as he garnered 1,070 votes out a total of 1,092 accredited delegates, in a race he contested unopposed.

Ebonyi Distributes Relief Items Worth N19m to IDPs

The Ebonyi Government on Tuesday distributed relief materials worth N19 million to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ebouwana Camp in Afikpo South Local Government Area of the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the beneficiaries are victims of an intra communal clash in Itinam, Ebouwana community.

FG Appeals To ASUU To Shelve Strike

The Federal Government has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to suspend its ongoing strike in the universities in the interest of the nation. Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment made the appeal in a statement signed by Mr Samuel Olowookere, Deputy Director, Press, in the Ministry, on Tuesday in Abuja.
