In preparation for the supplementary election in some states that were declared inconclusive, the Federal Government had directed the closure of all land borders in Adamawa, BeFederal Sokoto states. Mohammed Babandede, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration service, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja.

He added, the order takes effect from Friday noon to Sunday noon with the view of restricting human movement across border in the affected states that shall be conducting the election.
He directed the General public should take note and ensure strict compliance.


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier conducted governorship election in 29 states of the federation, however about 6 states were declared inconclusive rescheduled to hold on 23rd march 2019. The states include, Bauchi, Adamawa, Benue Plateau, Sokoto and Kano states.


Meanwhile, all eyes are on INEC to see how far it’s can pull its weight.
