The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye has warned politicians and those in the elite class of imminent violent revolution in the country.

Senator Melaye who raised the alarm on Thursday in series of Tweets via his verified Twitter handle said he was afraid of the revenge of the poor, stressing that what happened in Russia, Sudan and France, will soon take place in Nigeria.

The Senator-elect further lamented that the apparent class distinction in the country, epitomized by the type of cars being driven and purchase of houses in choice areas put politicians and those in the elite class in severe danger.

Some of the tweets read

“I am afraid of the revenge of the poor. It happened in Russia, France and recently in Sudan. It can happen in Nigeria.

“Housing segregation put us the elite in jeopardy. Ikoyi, Banana, Maitama, Asokoro, etc. Our leaders, including me, beware of violent revolution. Perilous times loading.”

The development is coming barely few hours after he attacked the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello of impoverishing the state. He claimed that while Permanent Secretaries in the state rode commercial motorcycles to office, some political thugs loyal to the Governor were driving exotic cars.

Melaye had since declared his ambition to contest the governorship position in November.
