Fayemi Emerges As NGF Chairman, As Seriake Takes Over PDP Governors Seat

Contrary to speculations that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State was in the hot race for the position of Chairmanship of the Nigerian Governors forum, his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr Fayemi Kayode has emerged as the new chairman of the exalted forum for a two years tenure.

Dr Fayemi succeeds Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, who served two terms over the past four years. Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto was also elected as vice-chairman to Dr Fayemi during the meeting at the forum’s headquarters in Maitama District.

In another development, following a meeting held behind closed doors by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor's forum, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson has emerged the Chairman of the Party Governors Forum.

Dickson, who doubles as South-South PDP Governors forum Chairman, will exit the seat of power In Bayelsa State as the Chief Executive on the 14th of February, 2020 after successfully completing his second term in office.

Reports have it that, Dickson is the first in the history of Bayelsa State to successfully complete a second term in office as Governor.
