Six of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors converged in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital to commend Governor Wike over his giant stride of developing the state to a greater height. Although one of the officials said the meeting was just a courtesy call, however,

it cannot be farfetched from Mr. Wike’s continued attack against the party officials which is threatening the party’s unity.


Mr. Wike being the most influential governor in the PDP has been having issues with the PDP over his stance against the party where he recently accused some committees within the party for corruption and deceit threatening to deal with them.


Amongst the governors who visited Rivers state were, Governors Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa), Samuel Ortom (Benue); Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Emeka Ihedioha (Imo); Seyi Makinde (Oyo); and Mohammed Mattawale (Zamfara).


Shortly after the meeting, Mr Tambuwal explained that the governors were in Rivers to commend Mr Wike “for his sustained projects delivery.”


He said the governors urged him to continue to deliver quality projects and sustain good governance for the development of Rivers State.


Tambuwal added that PDP remained strongly united in friendship and brotherhood.


Mr. Wike despite being one of the stronger pillars of the party has always being confrontational when his interest was trampled upon at every chance.


During the preparation to the PDP presidential primaries, Wike threatened the party not to relocate the venue of the primaries from Prot Harcourt otherwise he will wreck the boat and which all they complied.


Subsequently, he supported Governor Tambuwal instead of Atiku during the Primaries, anyway congratulated Atiku when he emerged victorious.


Moreso, Wike congratulated President Buhari when his election was affirmed by the Tribunal court, Wike in his usual controversial way accused some PDP governors of visiting Mr. President in the dead of the night which he said he is better of six he does not hide his feelings.


The recent one was when Wike accused some committee members, set up by the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT) for corruption deciet, where Walid Jibrin, the BOT chairman challenged Wike to prove his allegation.
