Some suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have today attacked, Mr Rotimi Amechi, the Minister of Transportation in Madrid, Spain while he was on National assignment.
The information came to limelight as the Minister shared through his official tweeter handle @chibuikeAmechi that he was attacked by some misguided Nigerians in Spain, but thank to Spanish polish for their quick intervention.
The massage reads; “Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain,” he said.
“They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers.”
However, Cable News reported that when Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of the IPOB group was contacted to confirm the incident, he disclosed he was not aware but will call back as soon as he got the update.
In his statement “Let me talk to our people in Spain and get back to you,” he said, before adding that some politicians seem to be against the interest of the Igbo “must be brought down”.
Accordingly, the assault come just four months when a similar attack was meted on Ike Ikwerenmadu , the Former deputy Senate president in Germany.
During the attack on Ikwerenmadu, Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the IPOB revealed that “those engaged in selling (Igbo) collective interest to Fulani caliphate” will all be brought down he disclosed.
