The Edo State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih has urged members of his party not to be distracted by those who cross-carpeted to the All Progressive Congress (APC), calling they should remain optimistic.
Orbih made this call while on a campaign rally at Owan West Local Government yesterday, claiming that those who left PDP did so at their peril as he claimed they were yet to be accepted by the APC.
The PDP some months ago expelled its former governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu who subsequently defected to the APC.
According to the party chairman, he said he knew what is bothering his party stalwarts, however, claimed that those who left for the APC are now in political poverty.
He reiterates “they are not in hell; they are not in haven, meaning they are neither in PDP nor the APC”.
NAN reported that Orbih appealed to party members that they should make the right decision as the Governorship election is fast approaching, saying they can do so by voting the PDP candidate alleging that the APC government has failed the people in all facet of the economy in the state.
Mr. Obiah berates the attempt by the leadership of the APC to dissociate itself from the abysmal failure of its party in the state.
In his statement, “They admitted that the APC government in Edo State has failed but they now want to situate it on the personality of Gov. Godwin Obaseki.
He queried, “Who brought Obaseki, Adams Oshiomole; can we separate Obaseki from Oshiomole? No. So it is clear that APC in Edo state has failed. In their failure, they must admit and accept that their time is up,” Orbih added.
