The pioneer interim Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, had yesterday kicked over the party’s decision to revalidate its members describing the exercise as ”an indefensible aberration leading to certain ugly perceptions.”

The APC chieftain taunted the action of the Extraordinary Caretaker Chairman of the party and the whole of the executive committee constituted by President Buhari as abnormal and a deviation from a norm.

The former Osun State Governor said most “aberrant authorities” always end up in contempt and disgrace.

According to him, the revalidation exercise by his party leadership is a waste of both material and human resources.

He explained that no population census is repeated in less than a decade, saying that there is nowhere voters are re-registered at every election period.

In his statement, “These seeming ugly perceptions put into abeyance the applause of the two national election successes that the original APC register enjoyed since its completion on 15th February 2014 and the over one billion Naira of 2014’s value that the original register cost when APC had no money of its own.

“Within this context, I see the present APC membership registration within less than a decade after the original register as an indefensible aberration leading to certain ugly perceptions.

Akande asked the caretaker Committee to avoid the temptation into becoming a power-drunk through perpetuating themselves in power in a manner as “sit-tight syndrome” which he said characterized “most handpicked authorities in most underdeveloped countries of the world.”
