The Presidency has today disclosed that contrary to the rumor being circulated by some mischief makers, there is no rift in a relationship between President Buhari and the APC National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinibu.

Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu made this known in a statement titled; “Alleged rift between President Buhari and Tinubu; the handiwork of cynics.”

Shehu slammed those behind the news as media mischief makers who are struggling for relevance.

The statement partly reads; “The Presidency wishes to make it clear that there is no rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and his strong ally, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The President and the Asiwaju have a very strong commitment to the All Progressives Congress, APC towards bringing change and this is a commitment they have made to the Nigerian people.

The spokesperson reiterated that “Recent reports of a rift between the two leaders of our party are false; the handiwork of some media mischief-makers.

He revealed it was unfortunate that certain sections of media for a reason best known to them have taken to spreading fake news concerning individuals to feed the general public especially the naysayers who work behind the scene cooking such falsehood.

Shehu’s statement further explained that “This administration is aware of pessimists and cynics who wilfully spread misinformation to create doubts in the minds of the people about the relationship between its leaders and whether the party will remain intact or not.

He noted that while Mr. President and the party are focused on the delivery of dividend of democracy to Nigerians, the desperate mischief-makers are at their best in its usual deception of swaying Nigerians to bay.

He insisted that Asiwaju Tinibu has been and is still the strong ally to president Buhari contrary to those who wish to see otherwise. He noted that the former Lagos State Governor has been no doubt instrumental to the formation, growth, and development of the PAC party to what it is today and even getting stronger.

He challenged that Asiwaju is not a cabinet member and people does not expect his face to be present at the presidential villa at all the time.

“The fact that he is not every day around the Villa does not make him less of a friend to the President and this administration,” Shehu added.
