Anambra Governorship Election: APC Has Slated June 26, For Primaries

In preparation for the Governorship election coming up in Anambra state, the All Progressive Congress (APC) party has slated 26 June 2021 as the date the party will conduct its primary election.

APC Director of organization, Prof. Al-Mustafa Medaner made this known through a statement, saying as the ruling party will commence sales of interest expression form for the election from 15th April to June 8, 2021.

According to Medaner, all completed forms must reach the party secretariat on or before June 8, 2021, for onwards processing.

Subsequently, he revealed screening of candidates would come up on June 10, while publication of claims and objections will be entertained on June 12, while the appeal on screening, if there will be any, would be conducted on June 15.

The party official also explained that the Governorship expression of interest form would go for N2.5million while the nomination form would cost N20miilion totaling N22.5million, for those eyeing governorship offices.

Meanwhile, the physically challenged persons and women will pay only fifty percent of the said amount to encourage their participation.
