President Buhari Arrives Saudi For Investment Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia around 11:50pm on Monday to part take in the Future Investment Initiative Institute conference. Mr. President was received at King Khalid International Airport by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Abdulaziz. A team of Saudi government and Nigerian Embassy officials, some cabinet ministers from Nigeria as well as some members of Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia, were also at the airport to receive Buhari. This was disclosed in a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, on Tuesday.


Mr. Buhari, together with other world leaders, will participate in the opening ceremony of the event on Tuesday and the three-day plenary sessions, focused on the theme for the 5th edition of the summit, “Invest in Humanity”.

The President is accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva; the Director General of National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and Managing Director of Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, Uche Orji.
