President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Aliyu Abubakar and John Asein as the Directors General (DGs) of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria (LACON) and the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), respectively with effect from January 12, 2023. This was made known in a statement on Sunday by Modupe Ogundoro, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Justice.
According to the statement, Abubakar’s reappointment was for a second and final tenure of 4 years in accordance with Section 3 (1) and (2) of the Legal Aid Act, CAP. L9.
The statement further disclosed that Asein was also reappointed for a second and final term of 4 years which is in line with Section 36 (1) and (2) of the Nigerian Copyright Commission Act, CAP C28.
