INEC Presents Certificate of Return To Tinubu

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented the certificate of return to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-Elect of the just concluded presidential elections. The certificate was presented on Wednesday to Tinubu by the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, where the certificate of return was also presented to Tinubu’s running mate, Kashim Shettima.

The presentation ceremony was held a few hours after Tinubu, the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of the presidential elections.

Tinubu garnered 8,794,726 votes, winning 12 states, followed by his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who also won 12 states and scored 6,984,520 while Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) won 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), finishing third with 6,101,533 votes.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), won Kano state and got a total of 1,496,687 votes.
