The Federal Government has approved the enrollment of all serving Corps Members participating in the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The decision was made known on Thursday by the Director-General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Suleiman Kazaure at NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun state. According to him;
“The Federal Government has approved that corps members should be enrolled for the NHIS. I received the call last night and it is a good thing.”
The DG while inspecting corps members and facilities at the orientation camp explained that the enrolment would enable corps members access medical services at designated hospitals anytime they fall ill. He added that the development would prevent avoidable deaths among the youths.
