Buhari Chairs FEC Meeting, Swears In 3 New Permanent Secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari has administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance as he today ushered in three new permanent secretaries during the Federal Executive Council meeting held at the state house, Abuja. The permanent secretaries include; Ekenam from Akwa Ibom State; Farouk Yusuf Yabo from Sokoto State; Lydia Shehu Jafiya from Adamawa State and Udom Okokon Ekenam from Akwa Ibom State.


Buhari later chaired the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting with a vice president who was recently discharged from the hospital and attended virtually. 

During the meeting, members of the FEC present were; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Head of the Federal Civil Service, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan; and the National Security Council (NSA), retired Major General Babagana Monguno. 

Others were; Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Musa Bello. 

In attendance were also the Minister of Trade and industry, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; Minister of labor and Employment, Chris Ngige; Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Social Development; Sadiya Umar Farouq; Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami; and Minister of power, Abubakar Aliyu. 

Meanwhile, those who could not make themselves available attended the meeting through virtual means.
