CVR Exercise: INEC Delists 1.1Mn Ineligible Registrations

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has delisted 1,126,359 registrations out of the 2,523,428 new registrations recorded between 28th June 2021 and 14th January 2022 during the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. This was disclosed on Monday in a statement issued by Festus Okoye, INEC Head of Information and Voter Education Committee who stated that irregularities were observed during the cleaning up of the voter's register using the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).
