Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State has emerged as the chairman of the Nineteen (19) northern governors Forum. His emergence followed the expiration of the outgoing Chairman of the forum, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State. Making the decision of the forum known, Shettima read a communiqué revealing that the governor would take over his new position with effect from 29 May 2019.
In his acceptance speech, Lalong thanked his colleagues for the gesture bestowed on him. He promised not to betray their trust as he also commended the outgoing Chairman Kashim Shettima who he described as very hard working Leader.
