Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has today distanced himself from the viral posters of himself that were sighted placed strategically across major streets in Abuja vying for president ahead 2023 general election.

The governor made the claim through his Commissioner for Information, Paulinus Nsirim saying he was not aware of the poster.

Vigil360 today learned that posters of Governor Nyesom Wike flooded the streets of Abuja especially the Herbert Macaulay way with the inscription “Rescue Nigeria 2023 from Insecurity, banditry, poverty, and killing.

However, Mr. Nsirim insisted that his Governor is still on a mission of how to rescue Rivers state to make it an envy of every Nigerian and therefore has no time for such frivolities.

In his statement which partly reads, “This is certainly the handiwork of mischief makers threatened by the Governor’s rising political profile. We are amused that political detractors will stop at nothing to see how they can distract Governor Wike’s visionary leadership.

Meanwhile, the commissioner advised Nigerians to discard such claims as his boss is really preoccupied with work for Rivers State people. He added that this is nothing but the work of political detractors who are set out to heat the political space in the country.
