The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday submitted the report of the Committee that investigated the allegations leveled against Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration.


The Vice President who briefed State House Correspondents after meeting with the President called on Nigerians to be patient as the President needed time to study the recommendations in the report. According to him "the report is very voluminous and very detailed. So Mr. President needs time to critically study the report and the recommendations made"


Recall that the President had in April constituted an investigative Committee headed by the Vice President to investigate the duo after their suspension.


While Lawal was investigated for allegedly awarding contracts worth millions of Naira to his company under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE), Oke was probed over alleged discovery of $43.4 million NIA operation funds at a private residence within Osborne Towers, Ikoyi Lagos.
