The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore those seeking the repatriation of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke. He claimed that the calls were being made in bad faith, knowing that they would exploit the loopholes in the nation's anti-corruption laws to escape justice.

“Their demand is not only unrealistic but it is not even being done in good faith. These people are hostile to the anti-corruption struggle and are hoping that if Diezani is brought here, there will be difficulty in getting her convicted.”

Prof. Sagay was apparently referring to the planned protest by Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy and his counterpart, Deji Adeyanju, the convener of Concerned Nigerians. The duo had hinted last week that they would stage a protest to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Monday to seek the repatriation of Allison-Madueke. They claimed that the former Minister must be brought back to answer all the allegations of corruption leveled against her by the Commission.
