Just In: Tinubu Takes Oath of Office As Nigeria’s President

Today marks exactly the 8th year of former President Muhammadu Buhari takes over as the Nigerian president, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stipulates, President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been administered an oath of office by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola. 

This comes a few minutes after his vice president-elect; Senator Kashim Shettima took the oath of office before his boss. 

Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election on 25th February after he floored his main opponent Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with, 8794,726 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP who came third in the presidential race. 

He mounted the podium alongside his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; former president Muhammadu Buhari and his wife Aisha Buhari who stood behind Tinubu as he took his oath of office.
