Buhari Retires To Daura After Handing Over Baton To President Tinubu

Former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is billed to retire to his country home, Daura, Katsina state today after completing his two terms as the president of Nigeria. Buhari departed Eagle Square, Abuja for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport en route to his home state, Katsina with his friends and family members where he is expected to be welcomed in a grand style by his village men who are already waiting for him in Daura.

Buhari left the Eagle square immediately he handed over the mantle of leadership to Tinubu/Kashim at the Eagle square as the President and Vice President while they took an oath. 

Before his final departure today, Buhari had handed over flags and other Insignia that represent signs of authority to his successor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu three days ago. 

He earlier had his last dinner at the State House banquet hall yesterday with the Newly elected president and other family members yesterday. 

The former Nigerian leader had consistently said he would retire to his hometown to look after his cows when his tenure of office elapses. 

In the itinerary of events to be hosted in his hometown, Buhari will attend a durbar ceremony to mark his return home to be hosted by his Emir of Daura.
