Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He becomes the second from Osun State to exit the party, following the earlier departure of Senator Francis Fadahunsi from Osun East. Fadahunsi's resignation was confirmed in a letter dated July 12, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 4, Oke-Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun. The letter was also copied to both the national and state chairmen of the PDP.
The letter stated in part, "I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.”
He cited “irreconcilable differences, irreparable division within PDP and numerous court cases which created factions at the National level” as the driving factors behind his decision.
In his own statement, Fadeyi said, "This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends. Thank you in advance for accepting my resignation."
