Portland Trail Blazers’ Nigerian star, Al Farouq Aminu, has been selected in the initial squad of eight players to feature for Team Africa at the 2018 National Basketball Association (NBA) African Game. It is the third time that the game will be holding and it is scheduled for Saturday August 4 at the Sun Arena in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The NBA Africa Game 2018 will once again feature a Team Africa vs Team World format.

 

The D’Tigers star has been listed along with Cheick Diallo and Bismarck Biyombo of the New Orleans Pelicans’, Evan Fournier of the Orlando Magic.

 

Others are the pair of Joel Embid and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from the Philadelphia 76ers, and Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.


Aminu who is making his first appearance at the event expressed his delight in a tweet posted on his handle.

 

“Proud and excited to represent Team Africa in the 2018 NBA Africa Game,” Aminu tweeted.

 

For Team World, the initial team announced include DeMar DeRozan from the (Toronto Raptors), Harrison Barnes, Dallas Mavericks), Danilo Gallinari (LA Clippers), Rudy Gay (San Antonio Spurs), Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks; U.S.), and Hassan Whiteside(Miami Heat; U.S.).

 

Full rosters of players, coaches and legends will be announced at a later date.
