The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has banned Togolese referee, Kokou Hougnimon Fagla from both National and International football-related activities for life, NAN reports. FIFA on Wednesday said that the ban came after Fagla was found guilty of accepting bribes to manipulate an international friendly match, which was against the organisation's code of ethics.
In a statement, FIFA said that the Independent Ethics Committee found Fagla guilty after in-depth investigations revealed substantial evidence of attempts to manipulate international friendly matches for betting purposes.
Addtionally, Fagla has also been fined CHF 3,000 (2,270.7 pounds).
