Kamaru Usman has defeated Colby Covington for the second time by unanimous decision to retain the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight championship at UFC 268 as the tournament returned to Madison Square Garden, New York for the first time since 2019.

Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman went head to head in a rematch with his rival and No. 1-ranked division contender, Colby Covington. The duo first encounter was in 2019 when the  “Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Covington via a jaw-breaking technical knockout.

Saturday's game saw Usman defeating Covington in a unanimous decision after winning the fight with  48-47, 48-47 and 49-46. After the rematch, they both showed respect to one another with Usman describing Covington as a tough opponent adding that he has improved from their first bout. On his part, Covington admitted that Usman had a better night.
