The Manager of Stoke City, Mark Hughes has accused Manchester United Coach, Jose Mourinho of sour grapes after he refused to shake his hands at the end of the Saturday's encounter that ended 2-2. The two managers had minor altercation during the encounter, with Hughes appearing to shove Mourinho when he strayed into his technical area.
Speaking after the match, Hughes said;
"I pushed him because he was in my technical area. Maybe that's why he didn't want to shake my hand. Maybe it's because it has to be viewed as a negative result for him, coming to Stoke when everybody expected them to beat us. It's a negative. Sometimes managers of top-six clubs don't take negative results too kindly. Sometimes, because they're not used to having to take negative results, sometimes they react in the wrong way. Maybe he reacted in the wrong way."
Mourinho had accused Stoke City of adopting defensive tactics to frustrate his side. Irked by the development, he snubbed the traditional way of ending football matches by refusing to shake Hughes after the match.
The incident makes Hughes one of the most snubbed Coaches in Premiership history. He had earlier been snubbed by Arsene Wenger, Tony Pulis and Mourihno.
