Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has explained the reason why he substituted star man, Eden Hazard on Wednesday night, during the Carabao cup Semi Final tie against London rival Arsenal. The two London clubs played out a dull goalless draw in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Stanford Bridge. Chelsea fans who expected that their playmaker would make a difference were surprised when Hazard was pulled out with some believing that he may have sustained injury.

Speaking after the encounter, Conte allayed injury worries and insisted that Hazard's removal was purely tactical.  "No, it was a technical decision. You must be worried if you don’t create and it is difficult not to score. The speech is not for the strikers, Christensen had two fantastic chances to score. It is not just the strikers, you have to take chances. The semi-final it is important to take your chances.”

Meanwhile, Conte has assured Chelsea fan that Hazard would not leave the Club amidst interest from Real Madrid.

"I can speak about my player and, as you know very well, Eden is an important player for us. Eden is very happy to stay here, to work for this club. And we want to try to give satisfaction to our fans. I’m sure about this. For sure, Eden is an important player for us.”
