Petr Cech Calls Time On His Trophy Landing Career

Arsenal FC Goal Keeper, Petr Cech would be retiring from football at the end of the 2018/2019 English Premier League (EPL) football season. Cech who has played professionally for 20 years made the announcement on 15th of January.

 

In a post on his twitter handle, He said: "This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season".

Cech explained that after playing in the premier league for 15 years and winning every trophy possible, he has achieved everything he sought out to achieve, adding that he is committed to winning one more this season before he bows out.

During his career, he helped win Five FA Cups, three League Cups, two FA Community Shields, One Europa League title and one Champion League trophy. While in Chelsea, he held the all-time record for clean sheets with 220 to his name and registered the sixth all-time in terms of appearances, with 486.

Past and Present Arsenal and Chelsea Players like Didier Drogba, Iker Casillas, Thibaut Courtois, and Mikel Obi have taken to their social media to pay tribute to the Legendary keeper.
