Arsenal FC has appointed former Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC assistant coach, Marcellinus Anyanwu as the coach of the under 17 team at the Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai. According to Brila.net, Anyanwu in 2013 made his mark in UAE, when his team the Holy Trinity Anglican Church won the Inter-Church Festival Football Tournament.
He coached the U-16, Academy and school league team of the Universal Sports Club, where they won three trophies. Also in 2017, he worked limitedly with the German International School Sharjah.
The new Academy Manager started as an assistant coach in 2011 for Imo State, at the Sports Festival In Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
He has indicated interest in contributing to the development of Nigerian Football, particularly at the young level.
Anyanwu holds a Diploma Certificate in Coaching and Training from National Institute of Sports (NIS), and an International Coaching Certificate from the English and Italian FAs.
