Legendary MFM FC Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu popularly called the "Working One" has departed Lagos based football side MFM after 13 years at the club. Fidelis who is been considered as one of the brightest coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has moved his trade to the Owerri based football giant Heartland FC.

The young gaffer who has been unveiled as the new coach of the Naze Millionaires (Heartland), after spending 13 years in charge of the Olukoya Boys said it was an emotional period for him.

‘It’s a new dawn in my career and my heart is filled with mixed feelings. Mixed feelings for me because I am leaving MFM where I was the head coach for 13 years, so it’s an emotional day for me,"

"I want to thank MFM FC and the church itself for believing in me and trusting me. I am forever grateful to them and they will always have a special place in my heart."

He also added that "From the moment I had the blessings of MFM to leave, they were many offers but I was most convinced by the Heartland project,”

According to a short message on the Heartland Twitter handle, "OFFICIAL! Fidelis Ilechukwu takes over as Head Coach of the club Details to be revealed later with Official Unveiling slated for Monday"

However, MFM is yet to name a replacement for Ilechukwu, but the club has said they are hoping to get another young and enterprising manager to help build on the legacy left by their former manager.
