Portugal coach Fernando Santos, says Cristiano Ronaldo is doing just fine and is showing no symptoms after his positive coronavirus test while in the Portugal camp. "I am told he (Ronaldo) is doing well. Obviously from the time he did the retest this morning, and it was confirmed, he went into isolation last night after he did the test, just like all the players. Yesterday after taking the test the players went to their rooms, then overnight we got the news," he said. "Tomorrow Cristiano and the other players will be tested again. Obviously, Cristiano has been isolated from the others from the start and will remain isolated. He's in his room. He says he wants to play. He talks to us from his balcony. And anyway, he is completely asymptomatic. He feels fine, without any symptoms at all. He doesn't even know what happened to him.
Ronaldo was ruled out of Portugal's clash with Sweden after he tested positive and will now undertake a period of quarantine while away on international duty.
The 35-year-old is also set to miss Juventus' trip to Crotone in Serie A this weekend, as well as their Champions' League group stage opener against Dynamo Kiev on October 20.
It is also unsure as to whether Ronaldo will be able to feature against Barcelona as he must be completely covid-free at least one week before the clash, which is scheduled for the 28th.
The Juventus striker is reported to be in good health and has no symptoms. He is the only member of the Portugal squad to test positive.
The news comes just days after Ronaldo featured in Portugal's goalless draw with France.
