Cyril Chinedu Olisema 95th-minute winner was enough to see Enyimba finish the group stage as winners and a place in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-final. The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side was on the brink of elimination after Es Sétifienne had defeated Al Ahly before a late effort from the midfielder came to the Elephants’ rescue.

The Elephants entered the game without captain and top goalscorer, Augustine Oladapo as Coach Fatai Osho named Dare Olatunji and Olisema as the two offensive midfielders and it was Olisema who came through, albeit very late on.

Enyimba finished with three home wins and three away losses were the tale of the tape for the Nigerian side in the Group stage as they lost to Pirates, Al Ahli Benghazi, and ES Setif. The draw for the quarter-final will be done in Egypt on Friday, April 30.
