The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Ghana in preparation for the first leg of their World Cup encounter scheduled for Friday. The team boarded a chartered Air Peace flight at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on Thursday morning. According to reports, the first leg of the playoff is scheduled to hold at Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Ghana on Friday, March 25, 2022, by 7:30 pm while the second leg would be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, by 6 pm.

The winner of both legs would secure a spot at the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled to hold in Qatar from November 14 to December 18, 2022.

The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare on Wednesday said the Super Eagles would be victorious against the Black Stars of Ghana.

He said, “We’ve put Cameroon and the Cup of Nations behind us. What I said after the exit in Cameroon was that we are angry at Ghana. We’re not going to Ghana for a draw. You guys just do your thing and have fun.

“You guys (players) are core professionals and you have a professional technical crew working with you and I think you will do Nigeria proud and I hope that when you return to Abuja on the 29th, it will be a mere formality.”

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Pinnick urged the Super Eagles to approach the match with ultimate commitment and focus.
