Sierra Leone defender, Usman Kakay has dared that his team can beat Nigerian Super Eagle in Abuja stadium, come 2023 African Cup of Nation Qualifier. This followed the John Keister squad that is slated to kick against the Nigerian Super Eagle by next week at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. The last time the two countries clashed, the Leone Stars worked hard to settle the March with Eagles that ended at 4-4 in November 2020 a match played at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Kakay, a defender who plays for the Sky Bet Championship club, Queens Park Rangers has boasted that he is very confident that he is not afraid of the Eagles, saying he can beat them.

In his statement, while speaking to FSL News Kakay said, “I am optimistic going into both encounters against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau. Firstly, I am convinced that we have the players to match a strong Nigeria team,”

“We have a good chance if we apply ourselves well. We can get positive results to help us qualify. I know both games are not going to be easy. Guinea Bissau was in the recent AFCON, so they have the experience as well, but I am hopeful and look forward to both games.”

Meanwhile, the Leone Stars will host the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau in their next game in the qualifiers series at the General Lasana Conte Stadium, Conakry on Monday, June 13.
