Asisat Oshoala has dedicated the medal of the fifth CAF Women award to her super falcon teammates. Asisat has set a record as the only woman to grab the award for the fifth time back to back after winning at the award ceremony organized by the officials at Rabat, Morocco, last night. The Barcelona queen made a caricature of a Cameroonian Ajara Nchout and Grace Ghanda of Zambia by emerging the winner.

The 26-year-old was previously tied on four with compatriot, Perpetual Nkwocha.

She said, “I had to fight hard to get to this point. I would like to thank all my teammates and my friends at my club FC Barcelona. Muchas gracias.

Narrating the experience, Oshoala said,” I also have to thank my friends on the national team. You are the best teammate in the world. in football, there are many lessons and I would like to send a message ‘we can fall back, but we can get back up’,” said Oshoala in hailing the courage shown by the Super Falcons after being reduced to nine men to still take their semi-final against Morocco all the way to the penalty shootout.”

The Nigeria Super Falcon star was ruled out of the ongoing 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nation after sustaining a knee injury during the opening match against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Oshoala will clash head-on with the Zambian copper queen for third place by Friday night.
