Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has reportedly turned down a new deal to remain in Arsenal, following growing interest from Chelsea and Liverpool. According to Sky Sports, Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger held talks with the England midfielder on Thursday in a bid to persuade him to stay at the Emirate. He was also offered a new £180k-a-week deal.

However, the player is believed to be adamant. Chamberlain who joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2011 is reported to be unhappy with his role in the team. Sky sources claimed that though Wenger prefers him to play as a wingback, the player wants to feature regularly as a full midfielder.

Meanwhile, Wenger is expected to meet with the player and his representative on Saturday to decide the fate of the player. Wenger will either allow the player to leave or see out his remaining one year contract this season before leaving as a free agent next summer.

Chelsea have already submitted a bid in the region of £30m to lure the player from Emirate to Stanford Bridge. Apart from Chelsea, Liverpool are also said to be readying a deal worth more than £30m to snatch him from Chelsea.
