AC Milan have indicated interest to sign out-of-favor striker, Diego Costa in a yet-to-be disclosed fee. The Chairman of the Club, Marco Fassone made the revelation in a chat with Skysports on Thursday. He stated that he had a private discussion with Costa's agent, Jorge Mendes recently and hinted that a deal could be consummated before the close of the summer transfer.

"I would prefer to avoid talking about players from other teams; Diego Costa is a great player, but a Chelsea player. We went to see Jorge Mendes; there is a lot you can talk to him about. Costa is a great player but he is of Chelsea. That's all for now."

The Brazil-born Spanish international was considered surplus to requirement at Chelsea after the Coach, Antonio Conte sent him a 'goodbye' text message. Currently, Costa has been sideline by the team. Few days ago, the player uploaded a short video of himself training on a Brazilian beach.

The brilliant striker scored a total of 58 goals for the Blues and assisted the club to secure its second Premier league title in three years. He had indicated keen interest on returning to his childhood club, Atletico Madrid but a subsisting transfer ban may hinder the switch.
