Manchester United has on Friday confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has sealed a return deal to the club after rival Manchester City pulled out of the deal. Ronaldo, 36, will be moving back to Old Trafford, 12 years after leaving Man Utd to join Real Madrid in 2009, until he joined Juventus in 2018.

In a statement, United said “Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical.

“Cristiano, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cup, seven league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and the European Championship for his native Portugal.

“In his first spell for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games. Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”

Commenting on his return to United said “heart and soul for Juventus."

“I’ll always love the city of Turin until my final days,”

He further said, “we can all look back and realize that we achieved great things, not all that we wanted, but still, we wrote a pretty beautiful story together.”
