The Minister of communication, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami has on Monday alleged that some group of individuals has concluded plan to exploit the media to sabotage the federal government policies targeted to stop exploitation from the sector.
The statement was made by, Uwa Suleiman, the spokesperson to the Minister while addressing pressmen in Abuja, he said the office of the Minister is aware of some desperate element who are bent on sabotaging the office of the Minister to fail in its mandate to deliver its duties.
Suleiman disclosed that since the assumption of the Minister to the office, he consistently draws up some policies that will benefit Nigerians, especially in the communication aspect through ensuring professionalism and a consumer based relation in the communication industry so that Nigerians get the best from the industry.
However, some vested interest has taken it upon themselves to see that the office does not succeed, he alleged that some individuals have set planned activities to engage media propaganda to demonized the good work of the Minister.
This has manifested in their display of resistance to some instructions and directives in ensuring that Nigerians get the best out of the communication policies through effective service delivery. However, the alleged element has resorted to blackmail and intimidation thinking they can make the office give in.
According to Suleiman “No acts of corruption or injustice shall be condoned,”
He said the minister and the ministry have remained focused on service delivery on the key mandates of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Suleiman called on media organizations to ignore such plots and uphold the integrity and character of their profession.
He urged Nigerians to be keen and disregard any information that contradicts the policies of the ministry.
