Twitter on wednesday announced that it was testing a new type of tweet in Brazil called 'Fleet' that disappears after 24 hours, similar to Snapchat and Instagram stories feature. This new feature is aimed at making the app more user-friendly as well as upgrade its privacy policies.

According to Reuters, the Company's product lead, Kayvon Beykpour disclosed that 'Fleet' tweet can be viewed by tapping on the profile picture of the user, as the tweet won't appear on the user's timeline or receive likes, retweets or public replies.

"We’re hoping that Fleets can help people share the fleeting thoughts that they would have been unlikely to Tweet."

This new feature will address the main reason some users don't tweet, as the public nature of the app can be uncomfortable for some.

At the launch of the feature, users will be able to post videos for 2 minutes and 20 seconds, while whitelisted users will be allowed to post for up to 10 minutes.

The arrival of the new feature might not be far from the call for changes by Activist investor Elliott Management Corp who is pushing for the removal of Twitter's CEO, Jack Dorsey.
