In line with efforts to provide customers with the best communications technology, MTN Nigeria has launched a voice over long-term evolution (VoLTE) call service. The new call service is also known as High Definition (HD) calls, allowing customers with compatible devices access superior natural-sounding voice quality calls, with reduced background noise and increasing speed of call connectivity.

The Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Adia Sowho disclosed the new service, saying "With VoLTE, MTN Nigeria continues to enhance Nigerian lives with innovative technology. VoLTE is free to access today at your rates from a VoLTE-enabled smartphone so you can call and surf at the same time with no interruptions ever again."

According to MTN, VoLTE calls will be charged at regular call rates. They will be available on VoLTE-enabled devices like Techno Phantom X, Infinix Zero X, and Infinix Zero XPro smartphones.

Other devices such as Samsung, Nokia, Apple, and other models of Techno will be soon supported on the service.

Customers with compatible devices must ensure they have 4G USIM, check that they are within a 4G coverage area by texting 4G to 131, and also update the VOLTE smartphones to the latest version of the software.

Meanwhile, customers without a 4G USIM should schedule an appointment by visiting https://scheduler.mtnonline.com/qwebbook.
