The largest annual technical Cybersecurity conference in Nigeria and Africa “NaijaSecCon” has returned for the third edition, taking a role of maturing the Nigerian information security space. This year’s conference will hold on May 3, 2019, at the Ace Olivia Hall in City Mall, opposite Muson Centre, Lagos.
The NaijaSecCon is a cybersecurity conference where discussions within the Nigerian cyberspace and information on relevant threats are merged and shared with live technical demonstrations by crypto-crackers, information security practitioners, enthusiasts, penetration testers, digital forensic analysts among others to proffer solutions to Nigeria’s constraints.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Mr Rotimi Akinyele, the lead convener of NaijaSecCon explained that the event would educate cyber security enthusiasts on both the governance and technical aspects of information security and how to start in the field.
He also mentioned that with new regulations established to further develop security among companies like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Cyber Security Framework and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the event is expected to attract about 500 guests and participants.
Activities during the conference include Technical Conference, Live Hacking Contest for Students, Lockpick Village-First in Africa, among others. Some speakers for the event include GTBank’s CISO; Bharat Soni, NIBSS CRO; Osioke Ojior, First Bank’s CISO; Harrison Nnaji, and Lead Cyber Intelligence Center, Deloitte; Ikenna Onyebuchi.
