Microsoft has rolled out the first Xbox 360 system update in over two years, showing that it has not yet forgotten the previous-generation console.
The tech company pushed out OS version 2.0.17526.0 on May 22 2018, for the console, but the update didn't offer up any new features or rectify any major exploit that needed to be patched. It is north worthy that the release notes for the software update stated that it simply contained minor bug fixes and various improvements to the system.
For Xbox 360 owners who would like to check the operating version of the 13-year-old console, go to the settings hub and select the System icon. From there, select Console Setting Info. The OS version will appear as the number that is listed after the Dashboard heading, within the gray area beside the Console Setting menu.
With the Xbox 360 having gotten a fresh update just recently, it shows that despite Microsoft's dedication to the Xbox One and Xbox One X, the company still wants to ensure fans of its older platform are able to enjoy a stable gaming experience without having to worry about potential operating system issues. Perhaps this patch will prompt fans to revisit the platform and enjoy some of their favorite titles on the Xbox 360 for old times' sake instead of relying on the Xbox one's Backward Compatible program.
