The Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday arrived Calabar, the Cross River State Capital on a two day official visit to mark the 50th anniversary of the State.

Hon. Garba Durbunde

The lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila federal constituency, Kano State, Garba Durbunde, who was kidnapped Tuesday, has regained his freedom.
Although the House of Representatives leadership established contact with the kidnappers shortly after the members abduction, it is not known if any ransom was paid.

A national leader and former Deputy National Chairman, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, today faulted calls by some politicians on President Mohammed Buhari to resign over ill-health.

Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB

The South East Peoples Assembly, SEPA, has asked the Federal High Court, Abuja, to as a matter of urgency, revoke the bail granted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The group claimed Kanu has since his release, contravened conditions upon which his bail was perfected.

Peace has finally been restored to Calabar Metropolis, Cross River State after a violent gun duel between personnel of the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Police, a development that left at least two Police officers dead, while operatives on both sides sustained varying degrees of injuries.
