The Nigeria Customs Service (NSC) has disclosed its decision to commence online auction of seized and condemned goods to qualified persons from July 1.

The bill was passed following a clause by clause consideration of the report of the committee on Customs and Excise, chaired by Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District. Sen. Uzodinma said the passage of the bill could not have come at a more auspicious time even as the current Act establishing the Nigeria Customs Service was last overhauled in 1958.

The total number of passengers who passed through Nigerian airports in the first quarter of 2017 (Q1 2017) was 2,505,612, representing 31.3 percent drop when compared to the previous quarter and 34.5 percent decline compared to the same quarter of 2016.

The Federal Government's N-Power social intervention programme has been described as the largest graduate jobs programme in the whole of Africa by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The first phase of the programme took in about 200,000 graduates while the second phase, opening in June, is expected to absorb 300, 000 more.
