Five Richest Nigerians

A report by OXFAM, the international anti-poverty NGO, has claimed that the combined wealth of just 5 of Nigerians wealthiest citizens is enough to lift the over 112million Nigerians living below the extreme poverty line , out of poverty.

Minister of Finance- Kemi Adeosun

The Federal Government has received more than 2,500 tips from whistle-blowers, according to the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun. Adeosun made the disclosure during a town hall meeting in Abuja on Tuesday where other ministers took turns to highlight the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration so far.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, on Tuesday said that the Federal Government could not address the country’s huge infrastructure deficit with budgetary allocations alone in the next 10 years. Adeosun stated this in Abuja at the 10th Africa Finance Corporation Summit, which was organised to chart a way for infrastructure financing in Africa.

NNPC GMD- Dr Maikanti Baru

The Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, said that the Corporation has concluded plans to commence oil exploration in the Lake Chad Basin in Six months. Baru, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by the management of NNPC to Alhaji Kashim Shettima, the Executive Governor of Borno State at the Government House, Maiduguri, Borno State.

Chief Audu Ogbeh - Agriculture Minister

The minister of agriculture, Audu Ogbeh has disclosed that the Anchors Borrowers Programme in Kebbi State, North-West Nigeria, has turned 400,000 individual farmers in the state, to millionaires. Ogbeh made the disclosure at the mid-term town-hall meeting of the federal government in Abuja on Tuesday, May 16.

An imminent merger and conversion of assets of Arik Air and Aero Contractors is one of the options being considered by the Federal Government (FG) in the buildup to establishing a new national carrier.
The option, according to sources, is due to the alleged debt burden of the airlines.

Nigeria Vice President- Prof. Yemi Osinbajo

The presidency, yesterday, provided details of the government’s four social investments programmes. Laolu Akande, the spokesperson to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said over N41 billion had so far been spent on the four programmes.

The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), has coordinated a limitation on the exit of rice from the Free Trade Zones (FTZ) into the nation's market as Customs handled smuggling through the land borders. 

Yakubu Dogara

Over $163.7m was spent to hire pre-shipment agents to monitor Nigeria’s oil and gas exports between 2009 and 2016, an investigation by the House of Representatives unraveled on Tuesday, 16 May, 2017.  The money was signed out by the Federal Ministry of Finance from a pool of funds domiciled in the Central Bank of Nigeria.
