Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, while mourning late Nollywood actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, aka Sisi Quadri expressed shock and devastation at the sudden passing of the star. The governor in his condolence message noted that Sisi was a fantastic actor loved by so many. “Sisi Quadri was a delight to watch on the screen, radiating homes with laughter through his style of acting,” the governor said. Other celebrities and fans have also mourned late Sisi Quadri. Many trooped to social media to offer their condolences. An actor, Tunde Yusuf who posted Sisi Quadri’s picture said, “Everything in the world is according to the will of Allah, from Allah we have come and unto Him, we shall return. May God bless, rest your soul, bro.”
The National President, Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, confirmed the late actor’s death in an Instagram post on Friday. He wrote: “Hmmmmm! May God grant him eternal rest.”
The 44-year-old Osun-born thespian who passed away on Friday, March 1. He reportedly experienced persistent hiccups from a kidney ailment in his hometown of Iwo, Osun State.
He had his primary and secondary education in Ore, Ondo State, before his journey into the movie industry, where he joined a theatre group led by Toyin Olaiya, in his native Iwo, Osun State.
Sisi Quadri, known for his insultive personality in movies and skits, had his breakthrough in 2004 in the epic Yoruba movie, ‘Seranko Seniyan’. His meteoric rise came in 2020 when he released the movie ‘Ebudola’ alongside an actress, Funmi Awelewa.
His other movies include Ololade Mrs Money, Toko Taya, Big Brother Ibadan, and Lepa Gawu, among others.
Aside from acting, Sisi Quadri was a trained fashion designer and, at different times, expressed his love for the craft, which he reiterated he would never leave.
He was happily married and blessed with two kids, Hazani Olamilekan, and Olamide Oyebamiji. In October 2020, he completed his house.
