Easter Break: FG Declares Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April As Public Holiday

To Mark the celebration of Easter break, the Federal Government has declared Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April 2024 as public holidays to commemorate the 2024 Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, where he urged Christendom to emulate a Christ-like life that was sacrifice at alter for humanity to witness redemption by Jesus Christ through dying for man.

 
In a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, who spoke on behave of the ministry today, quoted the minister as saying that Easter promotes values of love, forgiveness and compassion which are essential for social cohesion and harmony. 

He enjoined on Christians to imbibe these virtues as they are capable of impacting positively on the socio-economic development in Nigeria through fostering unity, which will manifest through reduction of conflicts and encouraging cooperation among Nigerians populace. 

The minister further urged Nigerians to demonstrate the acts through charity and generosity in helping alleviate the material conditions of the less privileged amongst them. 

This, he said, will synchronise with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. 

Meanwhile, he called on Nigerians to join hands with President and support the Tinubu-led Administration in its determination to bring sustainable development and usher in prosperity to all.
