The Nigerian Police Force have on Saturday rescued four American and Canadian citizens who were kidnapped in Kaduna State on Tuesday along Jere-Kagarko Road, Kaduna.

State Commissioner of Police, Mr Agyole Abeh confirmed the development stating that the four foreigners were rescued by the police at Jere area in Kagarko Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

According to reports a combine team of Intelligence Response Team, IRT, Counter Terrorism Unit, CTU, and Kaduna Police Command all deployed by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris rescued the three white men and one white woman, early Saturday.

The breakthrough recorded by the joint operation team comes three days after the kidnap while the foreigners were executing a solar power project in Kafanchan.

There is still palpable tension in Jos, the Plateau state capital over the alleged rustling of over 200 cows by suspected armed rustlers. The Commander of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Jos, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe who confirmed the development said 100 cows had been recovered while 20 were found dead.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Kebbi State Command said about 211 suspects were arrested in the state between January and December 2017 in relations with possession, sale, consumption and trafficking of illicit drugs. The State Commandant, Suleiman Jadi who made this known on Monday in a chat with NAN also hinted that the Command secured a total of 20 convictions of offenders while many other cases are still ongoing across the various courts in the state.

The federal government has called for the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in providing lasting solutions to the farmers and herdsmen crisis in the country. The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, disclosed this after a meeting with the President of the ECOWAS commission, Marcel De Souza, at the ECOWAS secretariat Abuja.

The decomposing body of the kidnapped Taraba State House of Assembly member, Hon. Hosea Ibi was on Monday recovered from the old site of SCC (Kwari) along Takum Kashimbila Road in Takum Local Government Area of the state. Recall that Hon. Ibi was kidnapped from his house, located opposite Ada Barracks in Takum, the headquarters of Takum Local Government Area, sixteen days ago.
